Neurologic Conditions

Nerve disorders can affect your central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), peripheral nervous system (peripheral and cranial nerves) or autonomic nervous system. Neurologic problems can cause pain, numbness, tingling, or burning sensations just about anywhere in the body.

Perhaps you or someone you know has had a stroke, has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease or any number of other neurologic disorders. The good news is that there is help for many of these common disease processes. Disorders that we can help include:

Stroke, cerebral palsy, balance and vestibular disorders, BPPV, Lou Gehrig's disease, transient ischemic attack (TIA), traumatic brain injury and disorders such as concussions, brain tumors, spinal cord tumors, gait and balance abnormalities, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain-Barre Syndrome and spinal cord disorders and injuries.

As you can see, we treat a wide variety of neurologic conditions. Our staff is also experienced in caring for people with vestibular problems/vertigo. Our team offers a number of effective treatments for reducing pain and improving function for patients with all sorts of neurologic problems. This may include hands-on manual therapy, neuromuscular reeducation techniques, analgesic modalities and gait and balance training. Prior to beginning a course of physical therapy we will first perform a complete evaluation to gain an appreciation of your specific condition and physiologic/functional deficits. We will then devise a plan designed to address your specific needs. We will communicate with your physician so that they may be aware of your initial status along with your ongoing progress.

If you or someone you love needs care for any type of neurologic condition please do not hesitate to call any one of our offices.
